Differentiation Resources
Differentiation In Practice: A Resource Guide For Differentiating Curriculum, Grades 5 - 9, Carol Ann Tomlinson, Caroline Cunningham Eidson
This resource,
co-authored by Dr. Carol Tomlinson and CONNECTIONS
Consultant Dr. Caroline Eidson, is a superb collection
of units developed by teachers in Grades 5 - 9 and in
all disciplines. Each unit states the abstract
theme and generalizations around which it is
constructed, provides a unit overview, then outlines
daily lesson plans that differentiated both
instruction and assessment.
Middle/High
Differentiation in Practice: A Resource Guide for Differentiatig Curriculum, Grades K - 5, Carol Ann Tomlinson, Caroline Cunningham Eidson
Similar to the book
description above, this book, co-authored by Dr. Carol
Tomlinson and CONNECTIONS Consultant Dr. Caroline
Eidson, is a fabulous resource for teachers in
Kindergarten - Grade 5. In addition to a "Brief
Primer on Differentiation" in the front of the book,
six units are detailed using the format and components
described above. The units include a language
arts unit on the alphabet; a science unit on plants; a
social studies unit on needs, wants, and community
helpers; two math units - one on geometry and one on
probability; and a language arts unit introducing
literature circles. These units are a marvelous
tool for demonstrating to teachers the specifics of
differentiation, and giving them concrete strategies
that they can use or adapt to their curricula.
